How Therapy Works
Three Basic Steps
Your Myofunctional Therapy journey at SoundFlow has three basic steps.
Step 1: Consultation - this is your free initial consultation where our Myofunctional Therapist will speak with you about your concerns and what you want from therapy.
Step 2: Personalized Plan - if you decide to move forward, our Myofunctional Therapist will develop a personalized sequence of clinically proven exercises for you or your child. You will also receive a complete Myo Kit containing therapy tools and aids that will be used during your exercises and sessions. Children will also receive their own, fun illustrated guide.
Step 3: Guided exercises and follow-up - This is your actual Myofunctional Therapy. This typically occurs in our office in 10-12 sessions occurring every two weeks (5-6 months total). Virtual appointments online are available for added convenience if desired.
Our Post Therapy Commitment
All Myofunctional Therapy treatment packages come with a 6 month and 1 year follow up session included to evaluate progress and stability and address any relapse. In addition to this, the patient is given the knowledge and tools needed to address common issues and concerns that may occur after your sessions are complete. Of course, patients are always free to contact our Myofunctional Therapist with any questions or concerns after their therapy. We're always here for you!
Why Choose SoundFlow Myofunctional Wellness?
Five good reasons!
All of our plans are customized for each, individual adult or child patient. Our mission is to evaluate, educate, and treat each patient with compassion, competence, and respect.
Our Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, Nidia, has been in the dental field since 1996, she's been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2004, and has been a practicing Myofunctional Therapist since 2022. She's highly experienced and respected in her field. She received her Myofunctional Therapy training from MyoMentor and she's a certified Myo Munchee practitioner.
Nidia also has the unique perspective of having suffered with clenching and TMJ pain herself much of her life due to a tongue tie. She regularly received Botox injections to relieve her symptoms. She also struggled with swallowing pills and had digestive issues. She has experienced first hand both the suffering and the life changing benefits of a tongue tie release and Myofunctional Therapy. Watch her testimony!
1. Experience
2. Individualized Care
When needed, we will work with your doctor, dentist, orthodontist or other healthcare practitioner to evaluate and diagnose an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder (OMD). In many cases, a tongue tie release (lingual frenectomy) will be required due to a tongue tie (Ankyloglossia) to achieve the best results. If you're not currently under the care of a physician, we'd be happy to refer you to one of our partners.
Se Habla Español! Our Myofunctional Therapist Nidia is a native Spanish speaker.
We're conveniently located in South Everett between the cities of Mill Creek and Mukilteo on SE Everett Mall Way (Hwy 99) at the crossroads of the Boeing Freeway (SR 526) and I-5 in the Twin Creeks Center. Just 10 minutes from the Boeing Everett Factory!
3. Collaboration
4. Bilingual Support
5. Convenience
Not close by or have a busy schedule? No problem! Virtual consultations and treatment appointments are available online with end-to-end encryption for complete security and privacy.
